In yet another firm statement, Yogi Adityanath dismissed the claims of faecal bacteria in Sangam water as “baseless” and reiterated his earlier assurances that the water is fit for drinking. The CM underscored that such reports had no basis in fact, pointing to the exhaustive scientific analysis conducted by various agencies monitoring the water quality during the Kumbh.

Yogi pointed out that the Sangam, being an intersection of three rivers—Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythical Sarasvati—has been a symbol of purity for centuries. He noted that millions of pilgrims bathe in the waters of the Sangam every year without experiencing any health issues.

The CM further highlighted that the state government had deployed modern water purification systems to ensure that the water remains clean and free of contaminants. Additionally, he emphasized that the government had taken every possible measure to guarantee the safety and well-being of those attending the Kumbh. Yogi reaffirmed that the government’s efforts in maintaining the purity of the water were unwavering and based on scientific and environmental standards.
